Text Box: Sadly but necessity dictates suspensions for non-payment of dues. In light of increased per capita assessments from Grand Chapter R.A.M. of Ohio, Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters and Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Ohio over the course of time, the local Chillicothe York Rite Bodies can no longer feasibly carry members whose dues fall in arrears.
Activity reports filed in December of 2004 reported twenty-two suspensions in Chillicothe Chapter #4 R. A. M., for non-payment of dues. Likewise twenty-two suspensions were reported for Chillicothe Council #4 R. & S.M. Chillicothe Commandery #8 Knights Templar had twenty-three suspensions for non-payment of dues.
Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A.M. reported eight suspensions for non-payment of dues.
Letters are mailed to brethren, companions and Sir Knight who dues are delinquent. Additionally, the names of those who are suspended are provided to the presiding officers of each body in an attempt resolve the Text Box: As with any organization Chillicothe Masonic Bodies rely on written communication to inform members of meetings and events. Keeping you in formed can best be done when our database is kept updated with correct mailing addresses for members, widows, sojourners and others who received mail on a regular basis.
I recently received a letter from a Florida resident whose mother was a Masonic widow. The writer informed me that her mother had passed away in April of 2004. Chillicothe Masonic Bodies maintains a widows list, however, it is virtually impossible to keep abreast of the passing of widows given the fact they are widely dispersed. Except for word of mouth or written communication, there exits a real possibility names will remain on our mailing list well after the fact. Another means of communication is email. Activity and Event updates are sent regularly. If you want to receive an update from Chillicothe Masonic Bodies send an email to sciotolodge6@horizonview.net and we will put you in our address book.

Just outside the Blue Room, over the registration desk, there is a Clock.  Arrangements for repairs on The Clock was undertaken by Brother Willard Homans, who maintained The Clock for a long time.  Now it would seem The Clock has developed a problem.  When hung straight the mechanism does not work and The Clock stops. Now this is a problem because everyone seems predisposed to straightening The Clock, apparently unaware of the problem. Despite notes attached to The Clock, people still want to move it so it hangs straight. PLEASE RESIST! Just resign yourself to the fact The Clock is crooked and wants to remain that way. I am sure there are picture you can straighten and no one will be the wiser, but The Clock will tell because it will STOP so, like The Clock, stop trying to straighten it.

The CLOCK in the Anti Room

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son. "So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.  The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a  creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs.  We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them." The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are."
