Text Box: Michael B. Haller, Worshipful Master of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M. appointed a committee to study the feasibility of purchasing the Phone Tree software for the Office of the Secretary. This software will provide a means of communicating with the brethren of the lodge, companions and sir knights of the Chillicothe York Rite Bodies. The tool will equip the secretary and recorder to make a pre-recorded messages directed to the member regarding Masonic funeral services, Fellow Craft Team practice, state meeting and special events conducted by the respective bodies. More information on this topic will be provided as it becomes available. Orient Lodge #321 has this system in place and has had very positive results.

Text Box: It is easier, with the recent change in the Grand Lodge of Ohio Code, to be reinstated from Suspension of non-payment of dues. If a member, who is suspended for non-payment of dues on December 31 of any year, subsequently submits his dues before the next annual meeting of the lodge, he is reinstated from suspension. No investigation or vote of the lodge is required when this process is completed within the Masonic year of when the suspension is made. The member loses the time on his record, but he can quickly and easily be restored to membership. If a member has been suspended for more than a year this procedure does not apply and a petition for restoration from suspension must be completed and that petition assigned to an investigative committee.

Text Box: There seems to be some confusion on distribution of the 200th Anniversary Commemorative Coin and Lapel Pin.

I am attempting to clarify the provisions as outlined in several releases that appeared in The Trestle Board.

The Commemorative items are distributed at NO COST to all members or our guest who attend either the installation of officers (which was held Tuesday, November 22, 2005) or the 200th Anniversary Re-consecration Ceremony which is to be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 1:00 pm.

The only provision is that distribution be limited to one free set of commemorative items. An additional coins or lapel pin may be purchased at $5.00 each.

If members wish to have their 200th Anniversary Commemorative sets mailed to their residence a check in the amount of $2.50 to cover shipping and handling is requested.

If you have questions call the Office of the Secretary at 740-774-3485,
