200th Anniversary Edition

This was the date of the 200th Anniversary Re-Consecration of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M. Registration for the event was held in the lobby of the Chillicothe Masonic Temple. Upon arrival those registering received a complimentary set of Commemorative items issued by the lodge. Representatives of Old Erie Lodge #3 and N.C. Harmony Lodge #2 were in attendance.
A tiled lodge of Master Mason was opened at 1:00 pm with the entrance of the Officers of the Grand Lodge of Ohio entering moments later.  Thirteen Past Masters of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M. participated in the re-consecration ceremony. Among them were Right Worshipful Brother Roger A. Bost (1975), Worshipful Brother Daniel E. Coates (1977), Worshipful Brother Keith Bost (1978), Worshipful Brother Richard A. Wardell (1980), Worshipful Brother Jack H. Case (1984), Right Worshipful Brother James R. Derexson (1986), Worshipful Brother Harley Thomas (1988), Worshipful Brother John W. Peters (1989), Worshipful Brother Eugene E. Day (1992), Worshipful Brother Michael Ash (1993 & 1999), Worshipful Brother Alvin DePugh (1997), Right Worshipful Brother David V. Medert (2000 & 2001) and Worshipful Brother John R. Ashton (2003 & 2004). 
Most Worshipful Brother Thomas Galyen, pro tem Grand Secretary read the text of the original charter of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M. to all assembled. 
A buffet featuring a broad array of finger foods was presented in the fourth floor dining room following the re-consecration ceremony for those attending .  
Text Box: Illustrious Master Ryan Adams announced January 17, 2006 that Chillicothe Council #4 would cater the Scottish Rite Banquet March 15, 2006 at 6:30 pm. Eminent Commander Robert S. Jones indicated he was not sure Chillicothe Commandery #8 could achieve the project this year.  Illustrious Master Adams announced that assistance from all Companions of Chillicothe Council #4 would be necessary to make the event a success.

Text Box: Chillicothe, Ohio was the site of the Seventh Masonic District Association Grand Master’s Reception, Saturday, February 4, 2006. One hundred eighty-five guests were received at the Christopher Conference Center on North Plaza Boulevard for this occasion, which has been six months in the planning by Worshipful Brother William Bennett, Co-Chair of the event.  

Eleven Grand Lodge of Ohio Officers and  their ladies were welcomed into the banquet hall under an arch of steel provided by members of Calvary Commandery #13, Chillicothe Commandery #8, Highland Commandery #31. District Deputies Grand Master David V. Medert, Tim Martin and Les Bower and their ladies were present for the festivities.

Most Worshipful Brother James M. Williamson presented the Grand Master’s Service Award to Brother Jay Prather of West Union Lodge #43 who accepted the award on behalf of his father, Brother Charles “Chase” Prather.

DeMolay Mr. Donald Fields and Rainbow Ms. Renea Tackett were each presented with the Grand Master’s Youth in Excellence Awards for 2006 by Grand Master Williamson.

Text Box: The Annual Inspection for Chillicothe Commandery #8 is March 4, 2006. The Order of the Temple will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the Full Form Opening following at 4:00 p.m.. There will be a Tea Table open for the Sir Knights and our visitors to enjoy prior to the Order of the Temple and continuing through the Full Form Opening. There will be a full dinner served shortly after the Commandery has closed at 6:00 p.m.. Our guest will be Sir Knight Arnold Fugate the Third Division Commander.  All Sir Knights are invited to attend.
