Fayette Council #100 merges with Chillicothe Council #4

Text Box: Companions of Chillicothe Council #4 R. & S. M. voted to accept the merger of Fayette Council #100 at the Stated Assembly October 19, 2004.  Right Eminent Companion Jeffrey Humble address the Companions on the issues surrounding the merger. He indicated the decision for Fayette Council #100 was made by Past Grand Master Roger Gaunt.  It is projected approximately 62 members of Fayette Council are affected. Illustrious Master John R. Ashton observed the merger did not come without debate and that some members may dimit to Hillsboro Council after all is said and done. PGM Gaunt would like it spread upon the minutes that a mutual agreement existed between Chillicothe Council #4 and Fayette Council #100 with regard to Text Box: According to informational sources a One-Day Master Mason class is slated for April 9, 2005.  Plans are still in the development stages and additional information will be published as it becomes available.  Degree fees will remain the same at $115.00 plus any additional charges levied by The Grand Lodge of Ohio for box lunches.  If you wish to petition for inclusion in this historic even contact William Bennett, Secretary or inquire to any Master Mason to obtain a petition.

Text Box: Illustrious Master John R. Ashton appointed a committee at the last stated Assembly of Chillicothe Council #4 to review finances. Current dues are $7.00 (of which $4.00 is sent to Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters as per capita. At the 175th Annual Assembly in Columbus, Ohio a motion to increase per capita to $8.00 was passed.  This represents a 100% increase. This increase leaves Chillicothe Council #4 with an operating deficit. The purpose of this committee it to evaluate the total assets of Chillicothe Council #4, factor into the equation the recent action by Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters and make recommendations to the Companions for their consideration on how best to address the issue of operating funds and payments to the grand body. A resolution, based on the recommendations of this committee, will appear in a newsletter after they make their report to the Companions.

Scioto Lodge #6 Receives Awards

Text Box: Worshipful Brother John R. Ashton accepted the 2003-2004 Grand Master’s Ritual Achievement Award in recognition for attaining the Ritual Proficiency Goal in the Grand Master’s Program.

He also accepted, on behalf of the officers and members, the 2004 Special Olympics Award for number of athlete sponsorships for the year.  Scioto Lodge #6 contributed $1,000.00 to the Ohio State Summer Games that take place in June of each year. A number of members of Scioto Lodge #6 participate with contributions to Special Olympics when they pay their annual dues.

Just a short e-mail to update you on R.W. Bro. Jim
Teeters. As you may or may not know Jim suffered a
heart attack on Monday. He underwent quintuple bypass
surgery yesterday. Spoke with Rick Mead, his
son-in-law, this morning... he is doing well. Jim is
at Mount Carmel West hospital, in Columbus. He is not
up to visitors yet however, cards would be
appreciated.

Please take a minute to remember Jim and his family in
your prayers. Thanks Jeff
