Text Box: It is customary, at least in my memory, the annual meeting of Scioto Lodge #6 F. & A. M. be held on the first meeting in November each year. This was obviously not always the case. On Thursday, November 17, 1955 the minutes reflect this was the annual stated communication. There were 41 members present for this meeting. A petition was received for Brother Marion O. Dunlap (apparently for affiliation), and petitions for degrees for Mr. Rinehart F. Roll and Mr. Homer C. Miller. These petitions were assigned to committees for investigation. There were reports on petitions for Francis DeSales White and Sherman L. Thompson. The ballots for both petitioners were clear. A Lodge of Entered Apprentice was opened and Brother E. A. Williams and Brother L. Sells were examined as to their proficiency in the degree. Afterward a Lodge of Fellow Craft was opened and Brother F.C. John, Brother C. Carmine and Brother Harold R. Scott were examined as to their proficiency in the Degree.
Worshipful Brother Fred H. Woodhouse, Worshipful Master appointed Worshipful Brother Cecil S. Blair as Judge of Elections with Brother Ogden D. Johnson and Brother George Gunlock as tellers of the Elections. Brother Harold T. Hixon was elected as Worshipful Master, Brother Ralph M. Harmount was elected Senior Warden, Brother Thomas W. Dobbins was elected Junior Warden, Brother Kenneth S. Endlich was elected Senior Deacon, and Brother Percy L. Schrecker was elected Junior Deacon. Brother Fred Templin was elected Tyler and Worshipful Brother Howard Laymen was elected Trustee. Worshipful Brother J. William Best was elected Treasurer, while the office of Secretary was filled with the election of Worshipful Brother Fred G. Messel. Worshipful Master-Elect appointed Thoburn K. Kelley as Senior Steward and Brother Joseph E. Ogan as Junior Steward. Worshipful Brother J. W. Monroe was appointed as Chaplain and Brother C. D. McDonald was the Marshal. Worshipful Brother George W. Stout was appointed as the Installing officer and Brother Edgar D. Rice, Grand Marshal. All elected and appointed officers were duly installed.
